Sherriff Instant Coffee Recipes
Instant Coffee
Water is to be added to Instant Coffee to avoid foaming. A better flavour is obtained by simmering gently for about 2 minutes.
Method:
For each serving use:-
1 teaspoon Sherriff Instant Coffee
5 1/2 oz. boiling water
Milk Powder (skimmed/whole)
Sugar to taste

Coffee with Mad Annie's Rum Cream Liqueur
Ideal for serving after dinner in a demitasse.
Method:
Mix as per Sherriff Instant Coffee recipe, then add:
1 teaspoon of Mad Annie's Rum Cream Liqueur
Whipped Cream may also be added.

Cafe Au Lait
(the famous milk coffee of France)
Method:
Combine equal parts of:
Sherriff Instant Coffee and Hot Milk
(Sugar to taste)

Iced Coffee
Method:
Prepare Sherriff Instant Coffee using:
2 1/2 to 3 tablespoons of Coffee to 3/4 cups water
Add Milk
Sweeten with sugar
Pour it hot over cubed ice
Top with Whipped Cream/Vanilla Ice Cream

Iced Coffee Viennoise
Method:
Prepare Iced Coffee
Add 1 ounce of Appleton Red Rum
Top with Whipped Cream

Lushus (Desserts) Recipes
Creamy Moulded Coleslaw
Refreshing and nutritious with a crisp texture and tart flavour.
4 Cups cold water
4 Tablespoons Lemon flavoured Lushus Jelly Crystals
1 Cup sugar, 1 Teaspoon salt
2/3 Cup cider vinegar, 1/4 Cup lemon juice
3 Cups mayonaisse or salad dressing
4 Cups shredded cabbage
2 Cups (medium) shredded carrots
2 Cups chopped green pepper
1 Cup sliced celery
METHOD
In large saucepan, sprinkle Lushus Jelly Crystals over 1 cup cold water, stir over low heat until Lushus Crystals are dissolved. Add remaining cold water, sugar, salt, vinegar and lemon juice, and stir to disolve sugar. Using wire whisk or electric mixer, blend in mayonnaise. Chill until thickened but not set. Stir vegetables. Chill until firm. Cut with serrated knife to serve.
12 to 14 servings.


Lushus Jelly Crystals Fruit Cup

Lushus Lychee Dessert
1 Pack Grape flavoured Lushus Jelly Crystals
1 Tin Lychee in syrup
METHOD
Dissolve Lushus in one cup of boiling water. Add one cup syrup drained from lychees. Chill in freezer for 30 minutes until partially set. Fold in drained lychees and chill until set. Serve with ice cream or topped with whipped cream.


Lushus Jelly Crystals with Peaches

Daquiri Fruit Salad
2 Cans crushed pineapple, drained (reserve syrup)
2 1/4 Cups liquid (reserver syrup plus water)
2 Packages Lemon flavoured Lushus Jelly Crystals
2 Cans (6 oz. each) grapefruit concentrate
1 Cup whipping cream, whipped, 4 medium bananas, sliced if desired
METHOD
In large saucepan bring liquid to boiling, stir in Lushus to dissolve.
Remove from heat, stir in grapefruit concentrate and rum.
Chill until thickened but not set. Fold in pineapple, whipped cream and bananas. Chill until firm.
10-12 servings

Moulded Potato Salad
1/4 Cup cold water
1 Tablespoon Lime flavoured Lushus Jelly Crystals
8 Cups cooked, cubed potatoes, 6 Hard-cooked eggs, chopped
1 Cup sliced celery, 1 Cup green peas
1/2 Cup chopped onion, 1 Tablespoon salt
1/2 Teaspoon pepper, 3 Cups mayonnaise or salas dressing
2-3 Teaspoons prepared mustard
METHOD
In small saucepan, sprinkle Lushus over water. Stir over low heat until Jelly Crystal are dissolved. Cool. In very large bowl, combine remaining ingredients. Stir in Lushus, blend well, pack lightly. Cover, chill until firm.
10-12 servings

Banana Trifle
Dissolve 1 packet (3 oz.) Strawberry flavoured Lushus Jelly Crystals in 3/4 cup boiling water. Mix 1/2 cup cold water and ice cubes to make 1 1/4 cups, add to Lushus Jelly Crystals. Stir until thickened. Remove unmelted ice. Stir in 1 cup each sliced strawberries and bananas. Place two cups pound cake cubes in large bowl; sprinkle with 1/4 cup orange juice. Spoon on Jelly Crystals chill for 10-15 minutes. Prepare 4-servings pkg. vanilla flavour instant pudding and pie filling with 1 1/2 cups cold milk. When thickened, fold in 1/2 cup thawed whipped topping. Spoon over Lushus Jelly Crystals. Chill garnish. Makes 10 servings.
